The Malacological Society of Japan

2022年12月12日

The aim of the Society is to promote the study of the Mollusca in Japan and elsewhere. Membership is open to all individuals who are interested in any aspect of molluscan studies. Members receive the Society’s scientific journal Venus and the Japanese newsletter Chiribotan. Venus invites the submission of original research and review articles from both members and non-members internationally; manuscript submission to Chiribotan is restricted to the members only.

Personal members of the Society have free online access to high-resolution PDFs of all articles published in Venus (1928–, including supplements) and Chiribotan (1960–), as well as Society’s other publications. Navigate to the members' page and enter the yearly ID and password; for inquiry please send an email to the head office of the Society.

Personal membership subscriptions can be paid in advance as instructed here (MS Word) and are valid from 1st April for one year. The annual fee is JPY6,500 for an ordinary member or JPY3,000 for a student member.

Any inquiry should be addressed to the head office of the Society:
